Robert Marquardt is Chairman and Founder of Signet Capital Management Ltd. He has 30 years’ experience with alternative investments. Responsibilities since 1992 include fund of fund management and running Signet’s Investment Committee. Robert previously was the Managing Director of Chase Manhattan Bank’s Private Bank, Luxembourg and before that a commercial banker with Chase in the UK and Middle East. Robert attended the University of Connecticut where he read Languages and Business. He also studied Arabic at the American University in Cairo and French at the Université de Rouen.
Dmitry Evenko is a Director and Senior Partner of Signet Capital Management Limited. Prior to joining Signet in 2015, Dmitry was the Founding Partner and CEO of Spectrum Partners, a leading hedge fund management firm (over $300m AUM) focusing on Russia and CIS. From 1995 to 2000, Dmitry Evenko was Head of Capital Markets and President of Fleming UCB, the Russian arm of Robert Fleming & Co.
Dr. Serge Umansky is the Chief Executive Officer of Signet Capital Management Limited. Serge’s expertise originates from 12 years in science and engineering followed by over 20 years in investment industry working for over 25 years in the US and Switzerland. Serge’s recent professional engagements include Signet Capital Management Ltd (which he co-founded in 2003) and Morgan Creek Capital. While working at Signet, he designed and managed the implementation of an innovative quantitative modelling system for alternative investments portfolios
Anatoly Fedorov is a Portfolio Manager of Signet Capital Management Limited. Prior to joining Signet in 2018, he worked as a Vice President at J.P. Morgan in EMEA Diversified Industrials Practice, conducting financial and valuation analysis, execution, project management and Due Diligence on large scale M&A and ECM transactions (e.g. from 2016: Philips Lighting dual-track, acquisition of US-listed auto supplier by German company and SGD Pharma sale to Chinese investors). Prior to his employment at J.P. Morgan, from 2010 Anatoly was an Equity Research Analyst at Genesis Investment Management, executing financial analysis, valuation and commination with corporate management, covering Emerging Markets.
Andrei Rafalson is a Head of Risk and Quantitative Solutions of Signet Capital Management Limited. Prior to joining Signet on in 2017, Andrei was a Vice President at Tramontana Asset Management, a Quantitative Investment Strategies fund. From 2011 to 2015 Andrei worked at Barclays Investment Banking, and specialised in developing systematic trading strategies and libraries for pricing and risk management of derivatives. He holds a Masters’ Degree in Mathematics at Moscow State University, and a Masters’ Degree in Economics at New Economic School (Moscow, Russia).
Natalia Kovalevskaya is an Investment Director and in charge of the Healthcare and Biotech. Natalia brings together professional and academic backgrounds in life sciences, biotechnology and finance. Prior to joining the Signet in 2020, she worked with scientific founders and invested in biomedical companies across seed, early-stage and late-stage in Europe as well as the US. Before fully focusing on biotech and life sciences, Natalia held a number of senior roles across investment banks in London. She was a Director at UBS Investment Bank as well as Mizuho International and a Vice President at VTB Capital London. She started her investment banking career at Citigroup as an analyst. Natalia holds a BSc in Biochemistry from Imperial College London, MSc in Management with focus on Pharmaceutical Industry from London School of Economics and MEng in Biotechnology from Moscow State University of Applied Biotechnology.
Amanda Atkins is Head of Operations of Signet Capital Management Limited. Prior to joining Signet in 2018, Amanda was an Assistant Manager of Operations at EFG Asset Management Limited. Amanda began her career as a Research Assistant at Matrix Group. She has an LLB Honours Law Degree from London Metropolitan University and holds the Investment Management Certificate.
Vanessa Alves joined Signet in 2013 and is looking after the bookkeeping for the group companies as well as HR and general administrative matters at Signet Capital Management Limited. Vanessa is also involved in fund level accounting and middle office process. She holds a Human Geography degree from Kingston University and is currently studying towards her ACCA qualification.
